UNIX OVO Administrator RS6505 RS6505 Oregon-Portland metro area MERIDIAN Technology Group is seeking a UNIX OVO Administrator RS6505 with a minimum of 5+ years related experience and 3 years experience in OpenView (Operations Center) administration. Must have expert knowledge of UNIX, shell, Perl scripting, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, Sun Solaris, IBM AIX and Linux. Must also have demonstrated experience applying complex principles into business applications. Familiarity with fundamental networking/distributed computing environment concepts required. Project management skills, including the ability to develop and monitor work agree also required. Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem solving skills at a complex level. You will be responsible for designing and administering OpenView Operations (Operations Manager) SiteScope, Business Process, Monitors and Business Activity Center for complex systems on UNIX and Windows based platform. You will provide expert technical assistance and consulting support to clients. Maintain systems and the hosted services through monitoring, data backup, troubleshooting and proactive security measures. Develop highly complex tools for managing the system and make all services available to users. Manage different types of complex technologies and services into a heterogeneous environment including those outside the operating system domain such as networking services, hot systems and third party software. Responsible for system-wide complex components or complex projects. Provide direction for entire project or a project team. Influence at account level and at customer management level. Solve unique highly complex problems. Develop and write proposals and price out projects. Resolve escalated issues/problems with broad knowledge. Act as an expert and lead associate and career level IT specialists. Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or a related field; or the equivalent combination education and experience required.
